One of my VERY favourite things about spring and summer are the magical mornings. You know the ones I mean... when you pop outside with your cup of tea, and the atmosphere is one of possibility.  It feels like there is something in the air, you can't quite put your finger on it, but it just might be the most special day you have ever had.

In a way, each day is the most special that you will ever have, as there will only ever be one of them. 

Allowing ourselves a fresh start is such a gift- we can forget what happened yesterday, and begin again. And perhaps through forgiving others, and by not holding onto our own past mistakes, magic surely is just around the corner.

There are times when we just can't make things right. When we have to accept that things are the way they are and we just have to work around it.

What we CAN change, however, is our attitude and our behaviour.

We could be angry about the person who pushed in front of us to get onto the train. Or we could accept that it happened and just let it go, choosing not to let it spoil our day.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy a few years ago, and whilst I still sometimes have an "it's not fair" rant against the world, I made a decision at the time that I would not let it ruin my life.

I have had to make adjustments. I've changed the focus of my business so that I no longer visit clients at home. I've become increasingly grateful for the world we live in now, with internet ordering and communications, without which I'd be truly cut off in my rural location.

I adjusted my sails to suit the wind.

Invincible summer

In the depth of winter I finally learned that there 

was in me an invincible summer.

It's January, right in the very depths of winter. We long to see leaves

on the trees again. The first hint of a bulb's leaves poking through the

frozen soil is a cause for celebration. It means winter will end.

Consider the quotation above. Summer inside me?

What is he talking about? 

The facts don't change. Winter is here, and it's cold and it's dark and it's wet. 

But that's just external. We don't have to let the dark months darken

our minds and our hearts.

We have a choice. 

We can sit shivering and miserable and grumble our way through winter.

Or we can greet winter with summer in our hearts. 

We can appreciate it as a time for renewal, for the soil to rest, for plants to regain their strength. We can spend time appreciating the warmth and shelter given by our homes.

Who says winter has to be an attitude?

Being free reminds me of a child's way of living each day as THE most important day EVER!!!  Do you remember that feeling? Getting to the top of a hill on your bike, ready to fly down the other side; lifting your arms up and out, and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! 

LIVING, ENJOYING, and LOVING each fresh day!

As adults we forget that feeling, and I think that it is a real shame. 

So today, try it. Turn the music up high, dance .... slide down the bannister .... or, if it's raining, put down your umbrella, put your face to the sky, and get wet!!!!  Forget you're an adult, and ... splash in the BIG puddles!!!!

Perhaps that sun might just appear, shine down on you, and... who knows what might happen??!!
