For the Love of Books
Inspired by Lois's Positivity Team forum thread all about reading- what we like to read, our favourite books, and what we are presently reading, I felt the urge to do this month's Treasury Challenge on one of my favourite books- 'Little Women.'
Against the backdrop of the American Civil War, a family of women strive to live the best way they can in difficult times. I see them as great examples of trying to live in a positive way; although there isn't much money around, they 'make do', and try to be grateful for the little that they do have. They grow in love for one another, and cherish life with all its obstacles.

Gosh did I love that book TOO ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's too hard for me to choose a favorite book (or even a fave author or series), so I picked a book I recently finished reading, a novel by a writer I really enjoy... Madame Mirabou's School of Love, by Barbara Samuel. I guess it would fall into the category of women's fiction.

I'm a huge book geek and aspiring writer, so I was excited to see this challenge. I chose Tamora Pierce's "Circle of Magic" series because it was my favorite series as a child and Tamora Pierce has been a huge inspiration to me. Of all the famous writers I've sent letters too, she's the only one who took the time to mail back to me and I've always kept her advice close to my heart.
ReplyDeleteSo here's my tribute to her:

I finally had a few minutes to create my team challenge treasury. It's inspired by Sue Bender's Stretching Lessons which is one of my all time favorite books. Enjoy!
