Time for Treasury Challenge!!

                                A Trip Down Memory Lane...

I was a child of the '80s. When I think of my childhood now, there are many aspects of it which I have continued to love. The 1980s introduced me to jumper dresses, (I still LOVE those, even if I am a little too old to wear them!!), corduroy, leg warmers, Winnie The Pooh  (the funniest books EVER written, in my opinion!!), deely boppers, Five Star and New Kids on the Block (ahem!)

There are also quite a few things which I will happily never re-visit, these include Cabbage Patch Dolls (scary), school, purple (I don't know what I have against this colour, but really don't like it), and being forced to wear the same style of identical blue coat that my sisters also wore (at the same time!!)

Having a wander through etsy's '1980s vintage' section brought back so many memories, both good and bad!! :)

So, the challenge this week is to pop your childhood era into the vintage section, and have some fun!!!

Do A Good Deed Week

It's 'Do A Good Deed' time again! ((Not of course that we don't ALWAYS do some sort of good deed!))

This week's theme is to do a good deed by paying it forward 'Etsy Style'! Pick an item from someones shop that's on the Positivity Team and PROMOTE PROMOTE PROMOTE their item as much as you can. Make sure that if one of your items is 'picked' pay it forward by helping another fellow team member to promote their item!

Here's my first pay it forward:
Turquoise Teardrop Howlite Necklace from bluegiraffeshop

Feel free to post on the team thread and on this blog post! Excited to see everyone's picks :)

Positive Quote!

{recipe for happiness II by EphemeraAndMore}

"Happiness never lays its finger on its pulse."

We are truly alive {and know it} when we are in the throes of utter and complete happiness. And whilst seasons of happiness come and go, just the act of smiling requires less energy than frowning. It also releases endorphins into our systems, becoming self-perpetuating.

So don't forget to smile today . . . it's easy and free and if you do, you might never even question whether you're really, really living!

Monday Positivity Quote!

"Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.'

                                               'Wax Poetic' by gildinglilies

Life can be, well, a little tricky at times. And whilst it can be easy to accept life without luxurious material comforts, or extra 'stuff', it can be difficult to accept those things that you feel are out of your control, or you might wish were somehow different.

My life feels a little like this at the moment, as it does from time to time for all of us.  But as I walked around my parents' gorgeous, pretty garden yesterday, with everything in full bloom, with the all the fantastic range of colours, the smell of the climbing roses wafting over me along with the gentle summer breeze, and the birds singing, I found myself thinking 'does it get any better than this?'

And if we find it impossible on occasion to rejoice in how things are in our own lives, we can certainly rejoice in the moment. When you find a lovely, calm, pretty, warming or joyous part in you day, enjoy it; try not to worry about what has been, or what may come. For that moment is really all you have...for now.

Just breathe...
